Xolile Sibande
Dr Xolile Sibande, PhD, is the Senior Manager for Information and Cyber Security (CISO) at the Auditor-General of South Africa (AGSA). She is an accomplished cybersecurity leader, technologist and academic with over a decade of experience in information security, risk management, compliance, and digital transformation. Dr Sibande holds a PhD in Management from Wits Business School, along with a Master of Commerce in Information Systems and several international certifications, including CISA, CISM, and AWS Cloud Practitioner.
In her current role, she leads the development and implementation of enterprise-wide cybersecurity strategy, governance frameworks, and risk mitigation initiatives. Her career spans senior roles at Vodacom and the University of Johannesburg, where she led critical programs to enhance cybersecurity resilience and maturity. As both a practitioner and scholar, Dr Sibande is committed to bridging theory and practice in cybersecurity, contributing thought leadership in the evolving intersection of technology, governance, and strategic risk.
